Princess Diana’s image has been removed from EastEnders‘ trademark pub Queen Vic ahead of Prince Charles and Camilla’s planned appearance on the soap drama.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will make a surprise appearance in the play next month, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a street party in Albert Square.
In the current episodes, Danny Dyer’s Mick Carter is preparing the Queen Vic ready for the celebration, and viewers were quick to point out that the image of Diana, which hangs on the boozer’s walls, has mysteriously vanished.

We wouldn’t like to be Mick when Linda finds out!
Mick discussed the party with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) on Tuesday’s (May 24) episode of the BBC One soap, revealing to them that he planned to ask the council whether he can seal the Square off for the occasion.
During the talk, a portrait of Diana could be seen in the background, but it had been pulled down by the time the show returned to Queen Vic.
Mick, holding a portrait of the Queen, informs Kathy that he’ll place it up ‘there,’ pointing to the spot where Diana’s portrait had previously been.

Fans were quick to notice the change, and many took to social media to express their displeasure.
‘Not them removing Diana’s portrait just in time for Charles and Camilla to arrive hahaha,’ one Twitter user said.
‘I’ve just seen the pic of Diana in the Vic. Has it really been removed?,’ added another.
On June 2, Prince Charles and Camilla will arrive at Albert Square.
Their Royal Highnesses visited the set of EastEnders in March to meet the actors and staff of the long-running drama and filmed the specially shot scenes.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will be greeted by Linda and Mick, who will introduce them to the residents of Albert Square.
‘I did think what amazing sports that they are just willing to do it,’ said actress Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter. ‘I just thought wow, they’ve never done anything like this before.
‘They didn’t really know what to expect, I mean it must have been nerve-wracking for them and completely out of their norm. So I just hope they enjoyed it as much as we did!’
